Biography
Sarah Margalus is a professor in the Education Studies Department at Washington and Lee University. Her experiences as an educator, reading specialist, math interventionist and instructional coach allow her to leverage various vantage points and skills when collaborating on educational topics. As a maker, she believes in the value of hands-on learning and informal educational experiences that allow students to engage in projects of personal interest. Research interests include self-assessment, self-regulated learning, educational makerspaces, international education, literacy, and the intersection of literacy and making. Sarah continues to work to support teachers and expand student access to hands-on, innovative learning opportunities.
