Circuits/Robotics Club at Lylburn Downing Middle School

Lexington, VA Weekly meetings every Wednesday

An exciting extracurricular opportunity for 6th-8th grade students to explore electronics, computer science, and robotics through hands-on activities and LEGO First competitions.

Program Goals

  • Introduce students to fundamental engineering and programming concepts

  • Foster teamwork and collaboration in technical projects

Key Activities

LEGO Robotics

Students build and program robots using LEGO Spike Prime kits for various challenges and competitions.

Arduino Programming

Introduction to microcontroller programming and electronic circuit design with hands-on projects.

Engineering Design

Students learn the engineering design process through real-world problem-solving challenges.

Team Competitions

Participation in FIRST LEGO League competitions to showcase skills and compete with other schools.
